A Press Release for a Global Audience

Award-winning, internationally recognized, and newsworthy, the story of Dancing Light and its recent record-breaking sale had all the elements for a good press release. Now, it was a matter of putting the story into words and capturing its essence without being too wordy and list-y.

“Paradise Valley’s Award-Winning, Internationally-Recognized Dancing Light Property Achieves New Heights with Record Sale

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA/ January 27, 2022/ PR NEWSWIRE/ Paradise Valley’s highly acclaimed and award-winning Dancing Light property recently sold for $12.5 million. Engel & Völkers’ Scottsdale real estate advisors, Jim Bruske and Gretchen Baumgardner, represented the seller and set a new Paradise Valley record for the highest price per square foot at $2,017.

The internationally-celebrated desert estate is a triumph of contemporary residential architecture embodying the spirit of its natural surroundings, it’s striking features causing a stir within industry circles, leading to major accolades and recognition. The home has been mentioned in over 100 international design websites and blogs, including Dwell.com and Elledecor.com. It has been on the cover of Western Art and Architecture magazine, along with being highlighted in many others such as the French publication, Architecture Durable, and published books, Living in the Desert and Heaven in Earth. Multiple awards acknowledge both the architectural design and build: Professional Builder Design Awards: Project of the Year, National Association of Home Builders, Best in American Living: Home of the Year & Platinum Award, Luxe Magazine RED Awards: Winner, Contemporary Architecture, PCBC – Gold Nugget Award: Grand Award. The compound is powered by Savant, combining state-of-the-art technology with elevated contemporary design features.

The new owners are relishing in the home’s functional aesthetics such as the rising angled roof, the virtually seamless indoor-outdoor experience, a pool placed strategically for its cooling effects, rammed earth walls, and a lush courtyard in the center of the home. Libby Cohen from RETSY represented the buyers. “I am so pleased that I was able to assist the buyers of this truly exceptional home. This property is a timeless jewel and has gone to new owners who truly appreciate the home’s value.”

EV Advisor Gretchen Baumgardner was equally gratified. “We are pleased to be welcoming the elated owners to their new oasis in the desert,” Baumgardner said. “Our seller feels fortunate to witness their appreciation for how truly special this property is, considering his own deep connection to the home.”

The architectural wonder was a fulfillment of the original owner’s desire to create one of the most spectacular homes in Arizona. The former owner’s longtime friend and interior designer, David Michael Miller, enlisted architect Brent Kendle, builder Jerry Meeks – Desert Star Construction, custom lighting designer Walter Spitz – Creative Designs in Lighting, and landscape architecture firm Gbtwo, to construct the 3-bed, 3 ½ half bath main house and 1-bed, 1-bath guest house comprising 6,198 square feet on 2.8 acres with a stunning backdrop of the iconic Camelback Mountain.

Now coming full circle, designer, architect, and builder had a part to play in this recent sale, and EV’s Jim Bruske shares his appreciation. “The Bruske Team would like to thank builder Jerry Meeks Desert Star Construction, architect Brent Kendle, and interior designer David Michael Miller, for all of your assistance in selling this truly amazing one-of-a-kind property. It’s been a tremendous highlight for us. We’re grateful for being a part of Dancing Light’s history and for working among such talented people.”

Historic Property in Florida

The Wardlaw-Smith-Goza Mansion

When First Coast Sotheby’s International Realty wanted a property description that was more than just a listing, they approached us to write a piece about the history of the Wardlaw-Smith-Goza Mansion in Madison, Florida. The home had an eclectic history of owners who have kept the character and charm of the Greek Revival-style architecture intact and well-preserved over the course of the home’s 150+ year history.

“A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own one of Florida’s historically eminent and noteworthy properties, The Wardlaw-Smith-Goza Mansion, generally known as the Smith Mansion, is an esteemed Antebellum home in Madison, Florida with a rich history dating back to the Civil War. Originally built by Benjamin Wardlaw in 1860 and designed by William Hammerly, a prominent architect from Virginia, the two-story wooden structure epitomizes the popular Greek Revival style revered in the Southern states at the end of the 19th century. With 20 prominent pillars and a wrap-around porch on all four sides, the property is surrounded by the awe-inspiring views of 200 year-old oaks, cypress trees, verdant gardens, and a wide entryway beckoning visitors and history buffs alike. The frosted trim glass windows are commonly adorned with Fleur de lis, a regularly used symbol throughout history with varied meanings and uses, but mostly associated with the French irises found on the banks of the River Lys. With a double-gated entrance, high ceilings, extra large windows, and a total of eight fireplaces, the home is considered a perfect example of the building style found throughout the deep south in that era. The handmade, original, curved staircase is made from reclaimed 200-year old African mahogany and the home is also adorned with antique chandeliers offering soothing illumination throughout many of the rooms.

The property was donated to the University of Florida Foundation where it served as a conference center for North Florida Junior College, eventually being donated to the City of Madison where it stood unoccupied as an historical site until 2014 when it was purchased by renowned celebrity chef Art Smith, a famous culinarian who, for over ten years, was Oprah Winfrey’s personal chef and who has cooked for celebrities and heads of state like former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and former President Barack Obama. The home was converted into the
Chef Art Smith Southern Kitchen and Garden School with the intention of offering not only cooking seminars by award-winning chefs, but also lectures surrounding topics like music, politics, and history taught by distinguished masters in their respective fields.” Excerpt from First Coast Sotheby’s International Realty brochure, “The Mansion.”

Press Release

Playground Oasis in the Desert

Engel & Völkers asked Two Heads Media to write a press release for a high-end luxury estate new to the market and located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The property had multiple outdoor amenities and was situated in a location for great views of the city, although the press-worthy news was the owner. We created a PR that highlighted certain features of the home, a quick snapshot of the seller, and the real estate agent overseeing the process. The PR was picked up by several popular magazines and publications.

“Engel & Völkers lists Poison’s Bret Michaels’ Home on the Market in Scottsdale, Arizona

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA. November 19, 2020 /PR NEWSWIRE/ The long-time home of Bret Michaels, lead singer of the iconic rock band Poison, has recently been listed by Engel & Völkers’ Scottsdale real estate advisor, Bob Nathan, for $3.299 million. Situated in the geometric center of Scottsdale, this veritable 5+ acre “Playground Oasis in the Desert” lies just behind a secure river stone and wrought iron gated entry. The 9,000 square foot compound’s variety of living spaces has been the location for numerous TV shows like MTV’s Cribs, The Big Interview with Dan Rather, Rock n Roll Road Trip with Sammy Hagar, as well as a number of Michael’s music videos. With so many shows filmed within this incredibly charming oasis in the desert, “if the walls could talk”, Nathan remarks, “they’d be recounting for days the stories of stars who’ve worked and played here.” Excerpt, Engel & Völkers Press Release, 9850 E Pinnacle Peak Drive, Scottsdale AZ.

Email Marketing

The image above is a partial screenshot of an email in a series we created for one of our luxury real estate clients. This particular campaign focuses on the art, lifestyle, and culture of Las Vegas. Email marketing is a crucial part of an agent’s overall marketing strategy. Hands down, it is one of the most effective ways to proactively connect with your clients to stay top of mind. According to VentureBeat, Email marketing wins first place for your return on investment. Rezora, a comprehensive, high-end real estate e-marketing platform, performed a study which concluded that 72% of customers prefer to receive information by email. Open rates are typically the highest for real estate compared to other industries; an average of 26%. And that’s just the average. We’ve seen rates significantly higher when the content is spot on and packaged in a pretty design. Imagine sharing just what your client wants (or needs) to hear and delivering it with the confidence that they’ll read it at least 26% of the time. Creating email marketing strategies for our clients is one of our favorite things, mainly because we know it’s for their own good!

Contemporary Residential, Las Vegas

Over the years I’ve come to love Las Vegas, and I’ve learned it’s not just a place to visit solely for entertainment. Working closely on content marketing initiatives with some stellar people who are part of one of the top real estate brands globally, we get to see another side of Las Vegas; specifically the side that reflects the city’s architectural diversity. Here’s one of my favorites: a contemporary masterpiece built by Blue Heron Homes that is just really cool with its incredible interior finishes and design, and the creative ways they’ve brought the indoors outside, and vice versa. The added touch is the state of the art technology managing things like temp systems, doors/window shades, pool/spa, etc. Represented by Synergy Sotheby’s International Realty Agent, Don Kuhl. Check out the beautiful pictures!

“One of 27 homes designed and constructed by Blue Heron in the Desert View Lofts community of Las Vegas, this beautiful property reflects the essence of modern architecture and digitally sophisticated technology for the utmost in energy efficiency. Flush with premium finishes, from the two-toned solid-wood custom cabinets, entertainment centers, and hanging shelves to the exquisitely designed exterior with its combination of foliage, water features, and carefully chosen materials, the combined living spaces of this home are perfect for anyone who has an appreciation for the finer details. The front courtyard with its ivy-lined walls, fireplace, and sitting area, leads to the interior spaces from various egresses, including an industrial, metal-encased glass door that slides upwards creating a unique setting for entertaining. ” Excerpt, 1516 Canyon Ledge, Las Vegas property description

New York’s Old World Elegance

Spring Hill Road, Old Westbury, New York

Old Westbury, New York. It may be old but the area is beautiful; so much so that the place attracted wealthy English immigrants because of its perfect setting/backdrop for polo, fox hunting, and horseback riding. Now, one of the most affluent villages in New York, the homes are kind of, hmmn, affluent. We’ve recently taken care of writing up descriptions for a few that went on the market in 2020. Sometimes, it’s all about highlighting the details.

“Through a stunning Ferrari paint-finished front door with mullion sidelights, the foyer’s dramatic vaulted ceiling rises 26 feet, further enhanced by decorative inlaid mirrors, a clerestory gothic window with sidelights, and an elegant staircase and balustrade. Hand-painted walls, French plaster ceilings, and select white oak panel floors are found throughout the first floor. The formal living room with stationary French door entry offers crown molding, a fireplace with Bianco Revo Marble mantle, and oversized windows. Across the hall, the dining room with box paneling, a recessed niche, and custom decorative ceiling accesses the butler’s pantry. The entry hall houses a formal powder room and guest closet. The library features high gloss paneling, a coffered ceiling, and Bianco Niere fireplace mantle. Shiplap paneling delineates the family room with a linear fireplace set in a crystal wall with a floating marble mantle and hearth, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the rear grounds. The breakfast area adjacent to the kitchen with sliding glass doors opens out onto the porch and terrace. ” Excerpt, Spring Hill Road, Old Westbury property description

Beauty Abounds in Utah’s Real Estate

Home development on the Provo River in Utah

There is beauty everywhere in Utah, the kind that takes your breath away. That’s the conclusion we came to after writing about 32 areas comprised of bustling cities, small towns, and wide, sweeping valleys in Utah’s backcountry. To say the task was a pleasure is an understatement. The places east and south of the well-known ski slopes of Park City and Deer Valley are some of the most beautiful places to live. If you’ve never been to Utah, or have only experienced the skiing, we encourage you to take a trip and witness the areas around the Wasatch/Uinta/Cache foothills. Homes of all kinds are being built to meet the demands of its growing popularity and the adventurous, peaceful, back-to-nature lifestyle it affords.

“Discovered for its alpine skiing potential in the 1930s, the iconic, world-renowned ski destination known as Deer Valley is one of three places in the nation that allows for ski-only runs on its award-winning slopes. No snowboarders allowed. Sought after by investors looking for exceptional ski-in/ski-out real estate and families searching for vacation homes and legacy properties near Utah’s slopes for the active lifestyle, Deer Valley delivers on all of the above with the perfect balance of practicality and panache. Properties like condos, single-family homes, and sprawling luxury estates are either a few steps or a short distance away from ski lifts, shops and restaurants, and many of the other seasonal activities the area is known for such as the  year-round activities like watersports, fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. With a variety of developments and communities throughout Deer Valley, there is a place for everyone to enjoy. And the best thing about living in Deer Valley is that it has managed to hold onto that quaint, mountain-town feel being only minutes away from Park City’s popular Main Street area known as Old Town. ” Excerpt, Deer Valley Resort/area description

Historic Property’s Story

“Las Olas” duPont Crowninshield Boca Grande FL Estate

https://www.gulftobaysothebysrealty.com/eng

We wrote a brief 3-4 paragraph description of the former duPont Crowninshield Boca Grande property capturing the essence of this historic home and detailing the exquisite features to attract new owners.

“The former duPont Crowninshield Boca Grande estate built in 1927 comes to market. Elegant and artistically pleasing, the architecture and native landscape of this beachfront home conveys a nostalgic feeling of earlier times. A recent 2-year renovation overseen by the Noyes gracefully combines bygone era with new vogue as seen from the imported mosaic tiles and hand-carved woodwork, shell stone floors, and new cathedral ceilings made from the estate’s reclaimed cypress wood. Rarely is a home with such deep roots and artistry available for purchase. ” Excerpt, Las Olas Brochure

Towns and Cities Descriptions for Real Estate Website

Four Seasons Sotheby’s International Realty’s Website Screenshot

https://www.fourseasonssir.com/

Two Heads Media was tasked with writing up concise, descriptive paragraphs of the towns, cities, lakes, and ski areas of Vermont and New Hampshire for a luxury real estate firm’s website.

“Established in 1763 the town of Newbury was once a favorite of Native Americans because the rivers teemed with salmon and with trout. Newbury was originally a village called Cowass where the Pennacook tribe lived. Considered by many to be one of Vermont’s most handsome towns, Newbury remains a rural village with plenty of charming country homes and majestic views. A notable resident was General Jacob Bayley who, with others, built the Bayley-Hazen Military Road which extends from Newbury to Hazen’s Notch near the Canadian border. Portions of this road are still used today.

Located at the northern reach of the Upper Valley on the banks of the Connecticut River, Newbury was known in the 19th century for its mineral spa and its booming farm industry of which traces can still be found throughout the town. A scenic 20-minute drive brings you to Bradford and a good variety of places to dine. Lebanon, with its large shopping plaza’s wide range of restaurants, is less than an hour away. Vermont’s Interstate I-91 will make traveling to Boston, New York City, or Canada easily accessible.” Excerpt, Four Seasons Sotheby’s International Realty’s, Newbury description

The Needle, All Directions Home, Compass Ad

Two Heads Media wrote several articles consisting of a seller interview, market news, and other real estate-related information for a Miami Herald ad insert.

A long-time Miami beach resident prepares to say goodbye to his home on Sunset Island

Jim Nolan’s house was built in 1946, and later modified by renowned area architect Chad Oppenheim. The redesign to the exterior was Mediterranean in style, and while living there Jim has worked to renovate the interior to match. As medical circumstances force the sale of the home, we caught up with Jim to talk about the house, the renovations he’s made, and his hopes for the future.” Excerpt, Saying Goodbye to Sunset Island article

At the foot of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area in Las Vegas is 63 beautiful acres of private land set for modest development of 20 private residences along with public spaces that include an outdoor amphitheater, an inn, and a restaurant with locally-sourced food. Premier Las Vegas real estate agent, Kristen Routh-Silberman, reached out to Two Heads Media for help with copy that would convey the developers’ attention to conservation efforts for the environment, allaying locals’ concerns over developers building in this popular natural environment about 15 miles west of the well-known Strip.

“The Ranch at Red Rock, the only private land in the canyon, will include both a private and public component, emphasizing a recreational destination as well as a luxury residential community. Ms. Routh-Silberman regards the new development as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. ‘Joel and Randall are setting the stage for what will be one of the most coveted and rare residential real estate offerings in Las Vegas,’ she says. ‘It’s a true opportunity that will redefine the way families experience living nearby the city of Las Vegas. Michael Elias, real estate professional and builder/designer reached out to Two Heads Media for assistance with writing the copy for a home he completely transformed from an outdated, tired looking 1980s-style motif to an elegant setting reflective of New York’s well-known Hamptons with its black and white high-end finishes and seascape tones.

This two-story contemporary home located in the quiet suburban neighborhood near Longwood’s Markham Woods Road recently went through a complete makeover. The results are nothing short of spectacular.
